## Synopsis

Teen Angel (1997-1998) is an American network fantasy sitcom created by Mike Reiss and Al Jean for ABC. Mike Damus stars as Marty DePolo, an empty-headed teenager who dies after eating a six-month-old hamburger and is then assigned as the guardian angel of his best friend Steve Beauchamp, played by Corbin Allred. Marty's afterlife duties collide with everyday high school life, with Steve's family including Maureen McCormick as Judy Beauchamp and Katie Volding as Katie, and Ron Glass appearing as Rod. The engine of the show is the comic gap between Marty's clumsy good intentions and the mess he makes of Steve's romances, schoolwork and family troubles from beyond the grave. Each episode is a self-contained misadventure in a single-season run of seventeen short 21-minute installments. The tone stays breezy and sweet, with a light, slapstick feel and a sincere affection for its characters. Fans of Bewitched, Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Highway to Heaven will find resonance in its gentle supernatural mischief and wholesome teen comedy. The series was canceled after its only season.
