## Synopsis

Lip Service (2010-2012) is a British lesbian dramedy created by Harriet Braun for BBC Three, a two-season series that ran for twelve episodes. Set in modern Glasgow, it follows a close circle of twenty-something women whose romances, flirtations and betrayals ripple through their shared social life. Cat MacKenzie (Laura Fraser) sits at the centre of the group, with Lou Foster (Roxanne McKee), Frankie Alan (Ruta Gedmintas) and Tess Roberts (Fiona Button) tangled in shifting attractions and rivalries. Sam Murray (Heather Peace) and Sadie Anderson (Natasha O'Keeffe) add further romantic complications, while Cat's brother Ed MacKenzie (James Anthony Pearson) provides a family counterpoint. The engine of each season is who sleeps with whom and what gets hidden as a result, told through frank, unembarrassed sexual candour and sharp banter. The tone is breezy and intimate, with a wry, warm texture under the drama. Fans of Queer as Folk, Girls and Insecure will find resonance in its urban, youthful relationship comedy and its candid take on modern dating and desire.
