## Synopsis

12 oz. Mouse (2005-2020) is an American adult animated comedy-mystery series created by Matt Maiellaro for Adult Swim. Its protagonist, Mouse Fitzgerald, nicknamed Fitz (voiced by Matt Maiellaro), is an alcoholic mouse who takes odd jobs just to pay for more beer. He is joined by his chinchilla companion Skillet, and the pair's mundane errands keep spiraling into stranger territory. The engine of the show is Fitz's gradual recovery of suppressed memories suggesting he once had a wife and child who have since vanished, pushing him to chase answers about his past and the shadowy forces apparently manipulating his world. Episodes are brief, roughly twelve minutes each, and the series spans three seasons across a long gap in its run, with the story remaining one continuing thread rather than standalone cases. Voice cast includes Dave Willis, Adam Reed, Kurt Soccolich and Matt Harrigan. Set in a surreal, sordid present-day urban milieu, the show blends bleak, nihilistic lowlife humor with an uneasy mystery undertone and a dreamlike, absurd atmosphere. Fans of Aqua Teen Hunger Force, BoJack Horseman and Invader Zim will find resonance in its surreal, dark comedy and its cult sensibility.
