## Synopsis

Digimon: Digital Monsters (1999-2001) is a Japanese animated adventure series created for Fuji TV and produced by Toei Animation, a shonen anime across two seasons and 104 episodes. Seven children on a summer camp outing discover Digivices and are pulled into a strange digital world, where they form bonds with creatures called Digimon who were born to protect their realm from assorted evil forces. The engine of the series is partnership: each kid pairs with a monster companion, and each episode is built around a new threat, a battle to defend the digital realm, and the slow growth of friendship among a group who must find their way home while protecting a world that is not theirs. Its episodes move briskly, with a warm, earnest, adventurous tone that mixes playful camaraderie with genuine peril. The shape is serialized in season-long arcs with recurring battles and escalating stakes. Fans of Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh! will find the same blend of creature companionship, youthful bravery and monster-fighting spectacle that defines the genre.
