## Synopsis

Air Gear (2006) is a Japanese animated action comedy series produced by Toei Animation and broadcast on TV Tokyo and TV Aichi, a single-season shonen anime adapted from the manga. Itsuki Minami, voiced by Kenta Kamakari, is a notorious school student and street brawler who burns with reckless ambition until he discovers a pair of Air Trecks that open a new way to move through the city. His best friends Kazuma Mikura, voiced by KENN, and Onigiri, voiced by Masami Kikuchi, back him up through the fights and rivalries that fill each episode. The engine of the series is simple and fierce: Itsuki wants to rule the skies, and every rival crew, challenge and street contest stands in his way, played out in dynamic aerial sequences over the rooftops of Tokyo. Running for one season of twenty-five episodes, it is a self-contained, episodic-leaning adventure with a continuing rivalry arc. Its tone is brash, energetic and playful, with comedy undercutting stylized violence and flashes of fan-service humor. Fans of Kuroko's Basketball, Yu Yu Hakusho and Crows Zero will find the same youthful bravado and street-level competition at its heart.
