## Synopsis

The Adventures of Batman (1968-1969) is a American animated superhero series produced by Filmation Associates and broadcast on CBS. Its one season of thirty-four half hour episodes follows millionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne, voiced by Olan Soule as Batman, and his young ward Dick Grayson, voiced by Casey Kasem as Robin, who secretly fight crime in Gotham City. Commissioner Gordon, voiced by Ted Knight, summons them with a police signal, and the crimefighting duo races out from the Batcave beneath Wayne Manor, relying on gadgets and a ready wit against kooky villains. Larry Storch voices The Joker in a handful of episodes, and the cartoon leans on a sunny, playful register rather than darkness. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week built around a flamboyant rogue and a quick rescue. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series, Super Friends and the 1966 live action Batman will find the same campy spirit, bright palette and kid friendly heroics. The show is a light, breezy snapshot of 1960s Saturday morning television, with an easy, cheerful appeal for families and nostalgia seekers.
