## Synopsis

The Green Hornet (1966-1967) is an American crime adventure series created by George W. Trendle and Fran Striker and broadcast on ABC. Van Williams plays newspaper publisher Britt Reid, who secretly becomes the masked vigilante the Green Hornet to fight gangsters and corrupt figures threatening the city. Bruce Lee stars as Kato, his resourceful martial arts driver and sidekick, whose fight choreography gives the show its most memorable action. Wende Wagner as Casey Case, the newspaper staff member, and Lloyd Gough as Michael Axford add supporting pressure around the masquerade. The engine of each episode is a crime story that the duo untangles and dismantles, with gadget-laden vehicles, disguises, and a narrator tying the adventure together. Across its single season of twenty-six episodes, the series keeps a breezy, playful register, with a campy approach to crime fighting that leans on theatrical flair rather than grit. Set in a 1960s American city, it draws a light, nostalgic charm from its era. Fans of Batman (1966), The Avengers, and The Shadow will find a similar retro appeal in its costumed heroics and wry tone.
