## Synopsis

Solsidan (2010-present) is a Swedish sitcom created by Felix Herngren, Ulf Kvensler, Pontus Edgren and Jacob Seth Fransson for TV4. Felix Herngren plays Alex, who moves with his pregnant wife Anna, played by Mia Skäringer, back to his childhood home in the affluent Stockholm enclave of Saltsjöbaden. He hopes to ease her into the easygoing social life of his old friends, especially his childhood friend Fredde, played by Johan Rheborg, and Fredde's wife Mickan, played by Josephine Bornebusch. Each episode is built from the small social collisions that follow: dinner parties that go wrong, rivalries over status, and friendships strained by new responsibilities. The show runs as a continuing comedy of errors across nine seasons, with a steady ensemble and a loose, episodic rhythm. Its tone is warm, sharp and often cringe-inducing, with a gentle undercurrent of class snobbery and the anxieties of adulthood. Fans of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Modern Family and Peep Show will find the same mix of awkward social comedy and affectionate character observation, though the setting is distinctly Swedish.
