## Synopsis

Melissa & Joey (2010-2015) is an American family sitcom created by Bob Young and David Kendall for ABC Family. Melissa Joan Hart plays Mel Burke, a local politician from a political family who takes in her orphaned niece Lennox and nephew Ryder after a family scandal. Joey Lawrence plays Joe Longo, a man left broke by a Ponzi scheme who is hired as the family's male nanny, or manny. Taylor Spreitler and Nick Robinson play the two kids, whose everyday teenage and childhood problems keep pulling the adults into comic trouble. The engine of the show is the clash between Mel's public image and the messy private life of a household that suddenly needs a caregiver. Each episode is a self-contained domestic comedy built from school crises, dating mishaps, and political obligations, with the uneasy friendship between Mel and Joe growing slowly across four seasons. The show is set in contemporary Ohio, a small city where council meetings and family dinners share the same kitchen table. Its tone is breezy, warm, and gently comic, closer to a classic multi-camera family sitcom than to anything sharp or dark. Fans of The Nanny, Full House and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch will find the same comfortable household comedy here.
