## Synopsis

Being Human (2011-2014) is a Canadian-American supernatural drama series created by Toby Whithouse for Syfy and Space. Set in present-day Boston, it follows a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf who share a shabby house and struggle to keep their dark secrets hidden from the world. Aidan Waite (Sam Witwer) is a reluctant vampire trying to resist feeding, Sally Malik (Meaghan Rath) is a ghost haunting the house she died in, and Josh Levison (Sam Huntington) is a werewolf fighting the moon while holding down a hospital job. Their engine is the constant pressure of ordinary life: jobs, relationships, rival supernatural factions and the risk of exposure, with each episode built around a new threat to their fragile double lives. Running four seasons across fifty-two episodes, the show moves from case-driven episodes into a more serialized arc. Its tone blends dark comedy with wistful melancholy and sincere emotional stakes, and its theme of found family gives the horror a warm center. Fans of the UK original, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel will find resonance in its mix of monsters and mundane domesticity. The series was canceled before its story concluded.
