## Synopsis

American Pickers (2010-present) is a US reality series created by Mike Wolfe for History. Pickers Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz drive back roads across the country, hunting for forgotten antiques and collectibles hidden in barns, garages and cluttered homes. Their engine is the search itself: they wade through grimy piles of junk, haggle with owners who often have sentimental attachments, and decide what is worth buying, restoring and reselling. Danielle Colby-Cushman and Rob Wolfe appear among the regular cast, and the show has run for many seasons with a long, episodic format in which each episode follows a new pickup and a new cast of local owners. Its atmosphere is folksy, low-key and rambling, with a mix of nostalgic appreciation for old Americana and the practical rhythm of a deal being made. Viewers who enjoy Pawn Stars, Storage Wars and Restoration Garage will find the same blend of collectible hunting, bargaining and transformation of cast-off objects into treasure. The tone stays warm and upbeat, and the appeal lies in watching ordinary forgotten things find a second life.
