## Synopsis

Hot in Cleveland (2010-2015) is a US television sitcom created by Suzanne Martin for TV Land. Three fabulous, eccentric Los Angeles best friends of a certain age, Melanie Moretti (Valerie Bertinelli), Joy Scroggs (Jane Leeves) and Victoria Chase (Wendie Malick), find their lives upended when their plane unexpectedly lands in Cleveland. Elka Ostrovsky (Betty White) joins the trio as a sharp-tongued presence who keeps the comedy bubbling. The engine of the show is the friends' stubborn attachment to their glamorous LA habits colliding with the warm, unpretentious Midwestern city they find themselves in, from dating mishaps and career reinventions to the small-town social circles that quickly absorb them. Each episode is a self-contained, half-hour multi-camera outing built around romantic misadventures and friendly rivalries. The show runs for six seasons and 128 episodes, with the stakes kept light and the tone warm, breezy and cozy. Set in present-day Cleveland, Ohio, it is a gentle, female-led comedy in the spirit of The Golden Girls and Sex and the City, with the comfortable, reassuring rhythm that Will & Grace fans also tend to enjoy.
