## Synopsis

Todd and the Book of Pure Evil (2010-2012) is a Canadian supernatural comedy series created by Anthony Leo, Craig David Wallace and Charles Picco for Space. Stoner heavy metal fan Todd Smith (Alex House) is the center of the show, and he is joined by his crush Jenny Kolinsky (Maggie Castle), his best friend Curtis Weaver (Bill Turnbull) and the geeky Hannah B. Williams (Melanie Leishman). Their goal is to search their high school for a Satanic spell book that causes mayhem, while they are opposed by the sinister guidance councillor Atticus Murphy Jr. (Chris Leavins). Each episode is a short, self-contained comedy of escalating supernatural trouble, with crude jokes, metal culture references and a roster of hellish schemes playing out across the school hallways. The series runs for two seasons of thirteen episodes each, and it has the feel of a cult cable comedy with a raunchy, irreverent edge. Its tone is brash, absurd and gleefully profane, and it has a sensibility similar to Supernatural and Buffy the Vampire Slayer for fans of teen supernatural shows with a comic spin, and fans of Metalocalypse will recognize its heavy metal humor.
