## Synopsis

Hart to Hart (1979-1984) is an American network mystery series created by Sidney Sheldon for ABC. Robert Wagner plays self-made millionaire Jonathan Hart and Stefanie Powers plays his journalist wife Jennifer, a glamorous couple who keep stumbling over dead bodies while living a life of luxury. Lionel Stander appears as their loyal helper Max, anchoring the household that surrounds the pair. Each case-of-the-week episode follows the couple as they pursue a murder, theft or other crime with the charm of amateur sleuths, using Jennifer's reporter instincts and Jonathan's wealth and connections to pry open the mystery. Across five seasons and 110 hour-long episodes, the show remains a stand-alone procedural format where each story is wrapped within a single outing. The engine is pure pleasure: sophisticated locations, sparkling banter, and the couple's easy affection make every investigation feel like a holiday. Set in early 1980s America among wealthy social circles, the series carries the polished, escapist sheen of its era. Its tone is breezy and cozy, with danger kept gentle enough for family viewing. Fans of Murder, She Wrote, Moonlighting and The Thin Man will find the same mix of amateur sleuthing, romantic chemistry and glossy whodunit fun.
