## Synopsis

The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers (1986) is an American syndicated animated space western created by Robert Mandell and produced by Tokyo Movie Shinsha. Four elite Galaxy Rangers, each gifted with unique abilities, ride the frontier of humanity's far-flung space colonies, keeping law and order where the settlers have little protection. Their engine is simple and clear: each episode pits the team against the schemes of the Crown Empire, an oppressive power that wants the colonies under its rule, while the rangers improvise rescues, chases and standoffs across dusty worlds and busy space stations. Voice performances by Jerry Orbach as Zachary Foxx and Laura Dean as Niko give the heroes warmth and banter, and Hubert Kelly as Walter 'Doc' Hartford and Doug Preis as Shane 'Goose' Gooseman round out the crew. The series spans its single season of 65 episodes as a case-of-the-week adventure with a running fight against the empire. Its tone is earnest, bright and upbeat, with a Saturday morning energy that carries the classic western ethos of justice and frontier loyalty into space. Fans of Firefly, Star Blazers and Bravestarr will find a similar mix of frontier spirit and cosmic action.
