## Synopsis

Body of Proof (2011-2013) is an American network crime procedural series created by Christopher Murphey for ABC. Dana Delany plays Dr. Megan Hunt, a brilliant neurosurgeon whose career ends after a devastating car accident, and who resumes work as a medical examiner in Philadelphia. Her engine is the puzzle of each case: she must work out who or what killed the victims, often against resistance from police and her own colleagues. Jeri Ryan co-stars as Kate Murphy, and Nic Bishop, Mark Valley and John Carroll Lynch fill out the principal cast. Each episode is built around a fresh body, a forensic chain of clues from the autopsy table to the crime scene, and the personal pressures of a single mother rebuilding her life. The show runs across three seasons with a case-of-the-week format and a steady, brisk procedural rhythm. Its tone is methodical and tense, with a hopeful undercurrent about recovery and purpose. Fans of Bones, Quincy, M.E. and Private Practice will find a similar blend of clinical detail, medical expertise and character-driven investigation.
