## Synopsis

Mike & Molly (2010-2016) is an American multi-camera sitcom created by Mark Roberts for CBS. Billy Gardell plays Mike Biggs, a good natured Chicago police officer, while Melissa McCarthy plays Molly Flynn, a schoolteacher, and the two meet at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting and begin a romance that their families and friends take in stride. Reno Wilson as Carl McMillan, Swoosie Kurtz as Joyce Flynn and Katy Mixon as Victoria Flynn fill out a loud, loving ensemble around them. The engine of the show is ordinary life: dinners, dating jitters, family visits, money worries and the daily effort of managing weight and self image in a tight working class household. Each twenty two minute episode is a self contained comedic story built on sharp verbal jabs and occasional physical slapstick, and the six season run follows the couple as their relationship deepens. The tone is warm, cozy and breezy, with a strong undercurrent of affection beneath the teasing. Fans of Roseanne, The King of Queens and Mom will find resonance in its blue collar warmth and its heart inside a traditional sitcom format.
