## Synopsis

Terra Nova is an American network science fiction adventure series created by Kelly Marcel and Craig Silverstein for FOX. Jason O'Mara plays Jim Shannon, a father who leads his family, including Shelley Conn as his wife Dr. Elisabeth Shannon and Landon Liboiron as their son Josh, through a time portal into prehistoric Earth. The engine of the series is a struggling colony trying to hold together against dinosaur-filled wilderness, internal politics, and the pull of a dying future that its settlers left behind. Stephen Lang appears as Commander Nathaniel Taylor, a figure whose authority shapes the expedition's uneasy balance between survival and ambition. Each episode mixes frontier survival with serialized mysteries about the colony's secrets, the portal, and the people hiding in the wild. The single season of eleven episodes was cut short, leaving its mythology open. Set in the 2140s and the prehistoric past, the show offers a hopeful, adventurous tone with dread underneath, and fans of Lost and Primeval will find resonance in its blend of family drama, dinosaur peril, and time-travel mystery.
