## Synopsis

Elena's Ghost is a Spanish-language telenovela produced in the United States for Telemundo and created by Humberto Olivieri. Elizabeth Gutiérrez plays Elena, whose romance with Eduardo, played by Segundo Cernadas, is pulled apart by family rivalries, secrets and inherited grudges. Ana Layevska takes on a double role as a scheming antagonist, so the heroine's world is haunted by a woman who looks like her and works against her. Supporting characters add jealousy and loyalty to the tangle, and each episode is built on confrontations, betrayals and emotional reversals that push the central romance toward new complications. Running as a single season of 117 episodes, the series is a classic serialized soap whose storyline shifted during its run. Set among wealthy families and rival clans in a contemporary Latin American-style milieu, the tone is melodramatic, intense and emotionally heightened, with a steady thread of suspense around the doppelganger plot. Fans of La usurpadora, Rubí and Yo soy Betty, la fea will find the same heightened romance, mistaken identity and telenovela excess.
