## Synopsis

Through the Wormhole (2010-2017) is an American science documentary series created by Geoffrey Sharp for Science. Hosted by Morgan Freeman, who narrates each episode and frames its questions, the show runs for eight seasons and sixty-two episodes of roughly forty-four minutes. Rather than following characters through a story, each episode takes one large question about existence, such as what everything is made of, what preceded the beginning, whether we are alone in the universe, or whether a creator exists, and then assembles interviews with researchers across astrophysics, astrobiology, quantum mechanics and string theory. The engine is the tension between philosophical speculation and hard evidence, with Freeman guiding viewers through experiments, theories and competing explanations. Guest scientists such as Reinhard Genzel, Steve Furber and Alison Gopnik appear as the principal voices in their respective segments. The tone is contemplative, awe-filled and measured, with sweeping cosmic imagery accompanying each argument. Viewers who enjoy Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey or Brian Cox's Wonders of the Universe will find the same blend of wonder and rigorous explanation. It suits a patient, curious viewer who wants big ideas explained clearly.
