## Synopsis

Transformers: Prime (2010-2013) is an American animated science fiction action series created by Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, Duane Capizzi and Jeff Kline for Hub Network. Optimus Prime (voiced by Peter Cullen) leads the heroic Autobots, including Ratchet (Jeffrey Combs), Arcee (Sumalee Montano) and Bulkhead (Kevin Michael Richardson), in a continuing war against Megatron (Frank Welker) and the Decepticons. The engine of the story is a clash over a mysterious, dangerous energy source that Megatron has returned to pursue, and each episode builds toward confrontations in cities, bases and open terrain. Human teenagers Jack Darby (Josh Keaton), Miko Nakadai (Tania Gunadi) and Rafael Esquivel (Andy Pessoa) join the fight alongside government agent William Fowler (Ernie Hudson), giving the robot battles a grounded, family-friendly human core. Running three seasons and sixty-five episodes of about twenty-one minutes each, the series plays as a serialized mecha adventure with episodic action and a clear overarching arc. Its register is brisk, earnest and kinetic, with bright heroism, playful banter and the spectacle of transforming machines. Fans of Transformers: Animated, Voltron: Legendary Defender and the original 1984 Transformers cartoon will find resonance in its toy-born robot mythology and team-based heroics.
