## Synopsis

Even Stevens (2000-2003) is a American family sitcom created by Matt Dearborn for Disney Channel. Set in suburban Sacramento, California, it follows middle schooler Louis Stevens (Shia LaBeouf), a messy, underachieving seventh grader who never takes school seriously and keeps landing in detention, and his polished eighth-grade sister Ren Stevens (Christy Carlson Romano), the family's perfect daughter with top grades, a busy social life and a stack of volunteer work. Their parents, attorney Steve Stevens (Tom Virtue) and state senator Eileen Stevens (Donna Pescow), and their high school sports star older brother Donnie Stevens (Nick Spano) form a household where achievement is the family currency. The engine of each episode is Louis's restless search for something of his own that can put him on equal footing with his overachieving relatives, while Ren's need for control keeps colliding with his chaos. The show runs three seasons and 65 episodes of self-contained, case-of-the-week stories built from everyday school, neighborhood and household mishaps. Its tone is breezy, wholesome and warmly comic, with sibling bickering that always softens into affection. Fans of Malcolm in the Middle, The Thorns and Boy Meets World will find a similar mix of family chaos, kid-centered humor and gentle moral lessons.
