## Synopsis

Love/Hate (2010-2014) is an Irish crime drama series created by Stuart Carolan for RTÉ One. Set in modern-day Dublin, it follows Nidge (Tom Vaughan-Lawlor) and John Boy Power (Aidan Gillen), two underworld figures whose long friendship fractures as they fight for control of the city's illicit drug trade. Robert Sheehan plays Darren Tracey, a young hustler drawn deeper into the criminal world, while Ruth Negga and Killian Scott round out the principal cast. Each season builds around shifting alliances, territorial disputes, and the cost of loyalty among small-time dealers, enforcers, and their families on Dublin's estates. The show runs five seasons as one continuing serialized story, with a gritty, brooding, and often harrowing tone, grounded in the grime of working-class neighborhoods. Its raw dialogue and street-level dread make it a natural pick for viewers who enjoy the bleak moral terrain of The Wire and Peaky Blinders, and gritty European gangster sagas like Gomorrah. The series is a forceful portrait of male friendship corroded by ambition and violence, with a sense of inevitable decline running beneath every confrontation.
