## Synopsis

Total Drama: Revenge of the Island (2012) is a Canadian animated comedy series created by Tom McGillis and Jennifer Pertsch for Teletoon. It is a one-season animated sitcom that parodies reality competition shows, and it follows thirteen new contestants returning to Camp Wawanakwa, now a radioactive island because it has become a nuclear waste dump. The engine of the show is the contest itself, in which competitors build alliances, betray one another and chase the prize while the hazardous setting adds an absurd edge. Anne Maria (voiced by Athena Karkanis), the brash contestant Brick (Jon Cor), the rival Cameron (Kevin Duhaney), Dakota (Carleigh Beverly) and Zoey (Barbara Mamabolo) are among the principal players, with Cory Doran voicing several other characters. Each episode of this thirteen-episode run is a self-contained challenge with escalating romantic and social drama, a brisk pace and a light, mischievous tone. Fans of Total Drama Island, Regular Show and Survivor will find resonance in its blend of cartoon slapstick, reality competition satire and teenage rivalry.
