## Synopsis

Karma (2004-2005) is an Indian weekly superhero-fantasy television drama created by Ekta Kapoor for StarPlus, a single season of 25 episodes that aired on Friday nights. Siddharth Choudhary plays Karan Kapoor, who becomes the titular masked hero Karma, a figure of cosmic moral justice pitted against demonic forces that threaten ordinary people. Riva Bubber plays Mrinal Deshmukh, a woman caught in the orbit of the hero's double life, while Tinnu Anand plays Devdutt, a looming presence in the supernatural struggle. Sudha Chandran as Gayatri and Melissa Pais as Kaira round out the principal cast. Each episode pairs a melodramatic family-centered plot with a battle against demonic evil, so the show balances domestic emotion with spectacle. The engine is a young man's reluctant transformation and the mounting cost of fighting forces that operate in the shadows. The tone is earnest, theatrical and heightened, with moral fervor and dramatic music cues defining the viewing experience. Fans of Shaktimaan, Heroes and Buffy the Vampire Slayer will find resonance in its blend of costumed heroism and supernatural conflict. Set in contemporary India, it is a compact, self-contained run that rewards viewers who enjoy earnest weekly superhero fantasy.
