## Synopsis

Aurora (2010-2011) is a Spanish-language American telenovela created by Marcela Citterio for Telemundo. Sara Maldonado plays Aurora Ponce de León Paterson, a woman who has been cryogenically frozen for twenty years and must readjust to a world that has moved on without her. Her heart is pulled between memories of an old love and a fresh chance at romance, with Eugenio Siller in the role of Martín Lobos and Sonya Smith as Ángela Amenabar drawn into the emotional tangle. Jorge Luis Pila, Aylín Mújica and Lisette Morelos add layers of family ties, rivalry and buried loyalties. The engine of the series is the push and pull between who Aurora was and who she might still become, played out through reunions, confrontations and secrets within a web of relatives and former lovers. Its single season of 135 episodes unfolds as one continuing serialized story, with each episode building on the last through domestic conflict, longing and sudden revelations. The mood is melodramatic and sentimental, with romantic yearning foregrounded over action. Fans of Dallas and the classic Latin American telenovela tradition will find resonance in its blend of glamour, family intrigue and heartfelt romance.
