## Synopsis

Street Hawk (1985) is an American action adventure series created by Paul M. Belous, Robert Wolterstorff and Bruce Lansbury for ABC. Rex Smith plays Jesse Mach, a former police officer who takes to the streets on a sleek, high tech motorcycle, a machine built to be nearly invisible to the criminals he hunts. Joe Regalbuto plays Norman Tuttle, a police colleague whose loyalty is tested as Jesse's missions grow more dangerous, while Richard Venture plays Lt. Cmdr. Leo Altobelli and Jeannie Wilson plays Rachel Adams, adding authority and personal stakes. Each episode is built around a self-contained crime, with the hero chasing down gangs, smugglers and criminal schemes across a busy American city while working around a weary bureaucracy. The show is a single season of thirteen episodes, a compact one-season run in the style of the era's stylish crime adventures. Its tone is brisk and earnest, with a campy glossy energy, sustained action, and a sense of optimism about technology. Fans of Knight Rider, Miami Vice and The A-Team will find the same blend of gadget driven heroics and urban crime pursuit that defined American network television in the mid 1980s.
