## Synopsis

Darkwing Duck (1991-1992) is an American animated superhero comedy created as a spin-off of DuckTales and produced by Disney Television Animation. The series follows the masked crime fighter Darkwing Duck, voiced by Jim Cummings, who secretly is suburban resident Drake Mallard. Drake lives with his adopted daughter Gosalyn Waddlemeyer-Mallard, voiced by Christine Cavanaugh, and his loyal sidekick Launchpad McQuack, voiced by Terence McGovern, while his dim-witted neighbors the Muddlefoots keep interrupting his life. Each episode is a self-contained case of the week in which Darkwing battles colorful villains and foils schemes in a fast, goofy, knockabout style, with the everyday comedy of a suburban household woven between the action. The show has a wholesome, lighthearted, and affectionate tone, with pratfalls, self-important heroics, and gentle parental warmth at its center. Its three seasons, spanning 91 episodes, run in a consistent episodic format, and fans of Batman: The Animated Series, Spider-Man (1994), and The Incredibles will find kindred spirit in its blend of caped heroism and family comedy.
