## Synopsis

Come Fly with Me is a British television mockumentary sketch comedy series created by David Walliams and Matt Lucas for BBC One. Its short run of half-hour installments is a spoof docu-soap set in a busy airport, following check-in staff, cabin crew, pilots and paparazzi through a string of mismatched encounters. Walliams and Lucas play nearly all the principal characters themselves, so one performer might turn up as a dim check-in clerk and then as a fussy passenger in the next scene. Guest appearances from celebrities playing themselves add to the parody of reality documentaries. The engine of each episode is the gap between the airport's bureaucratic calm and the chaotic lives of the people working in it. Fans of The Office, Summer Heights High and Little Britain will find resonance in its cringe-friendly, character-driven British humour. The tone is breezy and irreverent, with a deadpan mockumentary style that relies on the confessional-style interviews common to docu-soaps, and the jokes land through performance rather than plot.
