## Synopsis

Gold Rush (2010-present) is an American reality docuseries created for Discovery, following a rotating group of ambitious gold miners as they head into remote northern territories in pursuit of precious metal. Principal figures include Parker Schnabel, Todd Hoffman, Tony Beets and Freddy Dodge, all appearing as themselves, while narrator Paul Christie guides viewers through each operation. The engine of the show is the search for a rich claim, with crews wrestling with costly new machinery, unpredictable ground, weather and the constant pressure of whether a daring investment will pay out or sink the season. Each season is built from many episodes of excavation, negotiation and mounting debt, giving the program the feel of an open-ended frontier saga across seventeen seasons. Its tone is brisk and suspenseful, mixing hard physical labor with optimism and rivalry. Fans of Deadliest Catch, Ice Road Truckers and Bering Sea Gold will find the same blend of blue-collar grit, remote danger and gambling on fortune. The show remains one of the longest-running frontier mining reality series on television.
