## Synopsis

Tenjho Tenge (2004) is a Japanese animated shonen action series created as a Madhouse production for TV Asahi. Set at a high school that trains its students in the art of combat, it follows the members of the Juken Club and their rivals on the Executive Council, the ruling student body. The engine of the story is an escalating conflict between these two groups, who become drawn into a battle that has been left unresolved for four hundred years. Each episode is built around brawls, training bouts and rivalries between fighters who test their strength against one another. Voice performances from Soichiro Hoshi as Souichiro Nagi, Shin-ichiro Miki as Bob Makihara and Minori Chihara as Aya Natsume anchor the cast. Across a single 24-episode season, the tone shifts between raucous comedy, ecchi humor and bursts of visceral combat. Fans of Ikki Tousen, Gakuen Basara and Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple will find the same blend of school-based martial arts, rival factions and irreverent fan service. The series is a short, self-contained run that ends with its central mystery still open.
