## Synopsis

Sekirei (2008-2010) is a Japanese seinen anime series produced by Seven Arcs and Aniplex, adapted from the manga by Sakurako Gokurakuin and aired on TOKYO MX. Nineteen-year-old Minato Sahashi (Shinnosuke Tachibana), a failed college applicant, is regarded as worthless until Musubi, an extraterrestrial Sekirei, falls from the sky and kisses him to form an Ashikabi bond. He is then drawn into the Sekirei Plan, a battle for survival in which paired contestants fight rivals with extraordinary powers. Kana Ueda, Kana Hanazawa, Katsuyuki Konishi and Kana Asumi round out the principal cast. The engine of the show is Minato's reluctant partnership with a growing circle of Sekirei, each episode mixing comic domestic friction, ecchi fan service and sudden supernatural brawls. Across two seasons of 25 episodes, the series builds from standalone clashes toward a larger, concealed stake that the contestants do not fully understand. The tone blends breezy romantic comedy with propulsive action and flashes of brutality. Fans of Negima! Magister Negi Magi, Rosario + Vampire and To Love-Ru will find resonance here.
