## Synopsis

Bananaman (1983-1986) is a British animated superhero parody series created by John Geering for BBC One. Its everyday hero Eric discovers that eating bananas transforms him into the super strong Bananaman, and the comic premise plays the familiar caped-crusader formula for gentle laughs. Graeme Garden voices Bananaman himself, while Tim Brooke-Taylor narrates each adventure and Bill Oddie voices the sidekick Crow, with Jill Shilling as Fiona. Across three seasons and thirty-nine very short episodes, each five-minute story is a self-contained mix of slapstick and villain-of-the-week mischief, with the narrator stepping in to guide the action. The tone is light, silly and warmly nostalgic, the kind of breezy children's cartoon that is easy to dip into. Its hand drawn look and cheerful British sensibility will appeal to fans of The Tick and Danger Mouse, and to anyone who grew up with 1980s UK children's television.
