## Synopsis

Storage Wars is an American reality auction series created for A and E that follows professional buyers at cash-only auctions of abandoned storage units whose rent has gone unpaid. Each buyer gets only a short glance at the contents from the open doorway before deciding how much to bid, and the engine of every episode is the gamble: whether the boxes, furniture and forgotten odds and ends will resell for more than the winning bid. The format is unscripted and case by case, with rival bidders trading jabs and quick haggling as they haul their finds away and appraise them. The tone is breezy, competitive and light, with a comfortable, low-stakes appeal that rewards casual viewing and easy dipping in and out. Viewers who enjoy Pawn Stars, American Pickers or Antiques Roadshow will find the same mix of appraisal, hustle and treasure hunting that makes the series easy to return to.
