## Synopsis

Castelo Rá-Tim-Bum (1994) is a Brazilian children's fantasy comedy series created by Cao Hamburger and Flávio de Souza for TV Cultura. Across a single season of ninety short episodes, young apprentice sorcerer Nino (Cássio Scapin), a three-hundred-year-old boy who has never attended school, lives in a castle in the middle of São Paulo with his uncle Dr. Victor (Sérgio Mamberti), a sorcerer and scientist, and his great-aunt Morgana (Rosi Campos), a six-thousand-year-old witch. Lonely after his parents leave on an expedition into outer space, Nino casts a spell that brings three recently schooled children, Biba (Cinthya Rachel), Pedro (Luciano Amaral) and Zequinha (Fredy Állan), into the castle, and they visit him daily. The engine of each episode is simple: a curious question, a small misadventure or a lesson about how things work, handled with puppets, talking animals and household magic. The mood is warm, playful and whimsical, with an educational streak that rewards curiosity, libraries and invention. Each brisk half-hour is self-contained, so the show suits young viewers and adults alike. Fans of Sabrina the Teenage Witch and Bluey will find a similar gentle, child-centred enchantment here. It is a cozy, comforting series with a bright, handmade look.
