## Synopsis

La que se avecina is a Spanish national-television comedy sitcom created for Telecinco and later carried on streaming, and it has run as an ongoing ensemble since 2007. It follows the cramped, quarrelsome residents of Mirador de Montepinar, a fictional apartment building on the outskirts of a big city. Rather than building one continuing plot, the series runs on a steady recurring cast and a simple, relentless engine: small ambitions, petty rivalries and romantic misfires collide in shared stairwells, elevators and neighborly feuds, episode after episode. Its humor is a caustic satire of the types found in Spanish society, sharpened by witty scripts, memorable catchphrases and topical jabs. The mood is breezy, warm and nostalgic, a lighthearted comedy of manners that rewards repeat viewing. It is a spin-off of Aquí no hay quien viva, and viewers who enjoy ensemble chemistry and recurring jokes, as in Cheers or Friends, will find similar pleasures here.
