## Synopsis

La Tormenta (2005) is a Colombian telenovela created by Carolina Diaz, Isamar Hernández, Tabare Perez, Alejandro Vergara and Humberto 'Kiko' Olivieri, produced by RTI Colombia and broadcast by Telemundo. Maria Teresa Montilla (Natalia Streignard), a woman used to city life, must move to La Tormenta, her family's estate, to help rescue her relatives from financial ruin. Her plan rests on the belief that the estate can save them from bankruptcy, and the drama unfolds through the tangled pulls of romance and family obligation. Santos Torrealba (Christian Meier) and Isabela Montilla (Natasha Klauss) are among the principal figures whose relationships shape the story, with Simón Guerrero (Marcelo Buquet) and Bernarda Ayala (Aura Cristina Geithner) adding further rivalries and loyalties. Told across a single season of 216 episodes, the series builds through daily cliffhangers, love triangles and inheritance pressures in a classic telenovela format. Its tone is melodramatic, sentimental and heightened, with emotional stakes foregrounded over realism. Fans of Betty la fea, Pasión de gavilanes and Dallas will find resonance in its estate intrigue and romantic entanglements.
