## Synopsis

The Familiar of Zero (2006-2012) is a Japanese animated isekai comedy adapted from a light novel and produced by J.C.STAFF. Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière, voiced by Rie Kugimiya, is a noble teen mage at the Tristain Academy of Magic who is nicknamed Louise the Zero because her spells keep failing. During an important test she summons Saito Hiraga, voiced by Satoshi Hino, an ordinary teenager from Tokyo, and binds him as her familiar. Saito wants to return home, but he is stuck serving a proud and abrasive mistress, and each episode turns on his clashes with Louise, the rival nobles, and the sharp-tongued Kirche, voiced by Nanako Inoue. The show runs four seasons and forty-nine episodes, built around a continuing story of magic duels, court intrigue, and a growing war, with comic misunderstandings alongside slower emotional beats. Its tone is bright and breezy with a warm, romantic undercurrent, sitting in the vein of Re:Zero and Mahou Sensei Negima! for fans of summoned-outsider fantasy, tsundere banter, and magic school adventures. Expect a mix of slapstick, fan-service-tinged humor, and earnest friendship in a fantasy world that feels half medieval Europe and half anime exaggeration.
