## Synopsis

Dharma & Greg (1997-2002) is a American network sitcom created by Chuck Lorre for ABC. Dharma Montgomery (Jenna Elfman) is a free-spirited yoga teacher, and Greg Montgomery (Thomas Gibson) is an open-minded, Harvard-educated attorney. The two fall in love at first sight and marry on their first date, then spend five seasons of 30-minute episodes discovering how far their opposite approaches to life can stretch. Dharma was raised by bohemian parents to shun convention and trust her instincts, while Greg was taught a more conventional blue-blood philosophy, and their clashing families, friends and everyday chores supply the comedy. Alan Rachins as Larry Finkelstein and Mimi Kennedy as Abby O'Neill add lively supporting turns to the household. The show unfolds in a case-of-the-week rhythm within a continuing marriage story, set in contemporary San Francisco. Its tone is whimsical and warm, with a breezy, affectionate romance at its core. Fans of Mad About You, Newhart and Moonlighting will find the same mix of couple banter and gentle mischief.
