## Synopsis

Big Wolf on Campus (1999-2002) is a Canadian supernatural teen comedy-drama series created by Peter Knight and Chris Briggs for YTV. Tommy P. Dawkins (Brandon Quinn) is a high school student bitten by a werewolf during a camping trip just before his senior year, and he must balance ordinary adolescent life with a new and dangerous secret. His best friend Merton J. Dingle (Danny Smith) provides comic loyalty as Tommy keeps his hometown of Pleasantville safe from a steady stream of supernatural entities. Lori Baxter (Aimée Castle) and Stacey Hanson (Rachelle Lefevre) round out the principal cast of classmates whose lives intersect with the monster threats. The series runs for three seasons and sixty-five episodes, built around a case-of-the-week structure in which each episode brings a new creature or supernatural menace to a small town that has to be defended. Its engine is the tension between a teenager's crushes, schoolwork, and friendships and the nightly danger of transformation and monster hunting. The tone is breezy, goofy, and warm, with gentle comic moments that keep the horror light and family friendly. Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Teen Wolf, and Are You Afraid of the Dark? will find the same blend of teen life and monster-fighting fun, set in a late nineties North American high school milieu.
