## Synopsis

ItaKiss (2008) is a Japanese animated shoujo romantic comedy series created for TBS and TV Asahi and produced by TMS Entertainment. Adapted from a manga, the single-season run follows high school girl Aihara Kotoko, voiced by Nana Mizuki, who finally works up the nerve to tell senior Irie Naoki, voiced by Daisuke Hirakawa, that she has loved him from afar since their first day of school. The engine of the show is the gap between Kotoko's bold confession and Naoki's guarded reactions, with everyday classroom awkwardness, family pressure, and rival suitors standing in the way of a clear romance. Across twenty-five episodes of roughly twenty-four minutes each, the storytelling leans on small social moments, misunderstandings, and warm home life rather than grand set pieces. The tone is sweet, breezy, and heartwarming, with a light comedic bounce and a sincere attachment to adolescent longing. Set in a contemporary Japanese high school and its surrounding neighborhood, it sits comfortably beside the gentle romance of Kimi ni Todoke and the playful charm of Ouran High School Host Club for fans of shoujo anime who want a comforting, lovestruck watch.
