## Synopsis

Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan (2010-2011) is a Japanese shonen anime series produced by Studio Deen and broadcast on TOKYO MX and BS11. Rikuo Nura, voiced by Jun Fukuyama, is three parts human and one quarter demon, a teenager who has been raised in a house of spirits by his grandfather, the current head of the Nura youkai clan. Rikuo must learn to accept his demon blood and step into the role of young master, but rival factions and hostile youkai make the path brutal. Aya Hirano voices Kana Ienaga, the human girl who gets drawn into his secret world, while Ai Maeda, Yui Horie and Junji Majima round out a cast of loyal allies and rivals. Across two seasons and 48 episodes, the show moves episode by episode through supernatural skirmishes, rival clan politics and sword and spirit battles, each standalone fight feeding a larger struggle for control of the clan. Built on classical japanese youkai folklore and set in a modern Tokyo where the night belongs to demons, the series balances playful character banter with fierce action.
