## Synopsis

The Nine Lives of Chloe King (2011) is an American supernatural teen drama created by Dan Berendsen for ABC Family. Skyler Samuels plays Chloe King, a high school girl who expects an ordinary birthday with her friends and her single mother, Meredith King (Amy Pietz), until strange abilities surface and a mysterious figure begins hunting her. Her closest friend Amy Tiffany Martins (Gracie Gillam) and fellow students Paul (Ki Hong Lee) and Alek Petrov (Benjamin Stone) help her navigate a secret world, while Jasmine (Alyssa Diaz) and Brian Rezza (Grey Damon) add romantic and personal tension. The engine of the series is Chloe's struggle to understand a heritage that makes her a target of human assassins, balancing school life against a hidden war for survival. Each episode mixes school-hallway drama with mythology reveals and chase sequences. Told in a single ten-episode season, the show is a contained young adult supernatural serial built on the template of teen fantasy adaptations. Its tone is earnest and breezy, with a wistful undercurrent of displacement and the anxiety of growing up. Fans of Teen Wolf, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Fallen will find resonance in its blend of teen melodrama and secret-lineage mythology.
