## Synopsis

The Secret Circle (2011-2012) is an American supernatural teen drama series created by Andrew Miller for The CW. After her mother dies in a fire, Cassie Blake (Britt Robertson) moves in with her grandmother in the small town of Chance Harbor, Washington, where she starts high school and gets pulled into a circle of classmates descended from powerful witches. Faye Chamberlain (Phoebe Tonkin) and Adam Conant (Thomas Dekker) are among the students who have been waiting for Cassie to join them and complete a new generation of the coven, but strange and frightening events keep escalating around her. Cassie must decide whom to trust while suspicion grows that her mother's death was no accident. The series runs for a single season of twenty-two episodes and was canceled before its story was finished. Each episode mixes teenage romance and rivalry with ritual magic, family secrets and creeping dread, in the moody, fast-paced register of the CW's earlier supernatural hits. Fans of The Vampire Diaries, Charmed and Teen Wolf will find a familiar blend of coven politics, adolescent intrigue and small town menace, with a gentle sheen of gothic atmosphere over the Pacific Northwest setting.
