## Synopsis

Gavin & Stacey (2007-2010) is a British sitcom created by Ruth Jones and James Corden for BBC Three and BBC One, produced by Baby Cow Productions. Across three series and nineteen half-hour episodes, the story follows Gavin Shipman (Mathew Horne) and Stacey Shipman (Joanna Page), a young couple whose romance spans the distance between Essex and Wales. Their long-distance courtship becomes the engine of the show, as each family, friends and assorted baggage get pulled into the other's world. Gavin's mother Pam (Alison Steadman) and his father Mick (Larry Lamb) meet Stacey's boisterous Welsh relatives, including Bryn West (Rob Brydon) and Gwen West (Melanie Walters), and the mismatched households clash over dinners, weddings and visits. Episodes are self-contained comic set pieces that build a continuing tapestry of rivalries, misunderstandings and affection. Written by Ruth Jones and James Corden, who also star, the series delivers broad, character-driven humour with a warm, cozy register and an undercurrent of genuine tenderness. Its tone recalls the observational family comedy of The Royle Family and the cross-cultural romance of Four Weddings and a Funeral, making it a natural pick for viewers who love eccentric ensembles and heartfelt British comedy.
