## Synopsis

Young Dracula (2006-2014) is a British children's family comedy created by Danny Robins and Dan Tetsell for CBBC and produced by BBC Cymru Wales. Vlad Dracula (Gerran Howell) and his sister Ingrid Dracula (Clare Thomas) move to Britain from Transylvania with their father, Count Dracula (Keith-Lee Castle), and must conceal their vampire heritage while attending ordinary schools and dealing with nosy neighbours and human classmates. The engine of the show is the constant risk of exposure: each episode is built from small domestic and school-life mishaps, schemes gone wrong, and the family's clumsy attempts to keep up appearances. Vampire hunters from the Van Helsing family, played by Terence Maynard and Terry Haywood, recur as rivals who keep the Draculas on edge. Running across five seasons and sixty-six episodes, the series moves at a brisk pace with a light, mischievous tone that remains warm, playful, and cosy rather than frightening. Its settings are suburban British homes, classrooms, and streets, with the gothic trappings used for affectionate comedy. Fans of The Addams Family, What We Do in the Shadows, and Wizards of Waverly Place will find a similar blend of monstrous family life and gentle, all-ages humour.
