## Synopsis

19-2 (2011-2015) is a French-language Canadian police drama created for ICI Radio-Canada Télé, a three-season run of ten episodes per season. Set in present-day Montreal, it follows seasoned veteran Nick Barron (Réal Bossé) and rural newcomer Ben Chartier as they patrol the streets from the 19th precinct. Their working relationship begins as a clash of temperaments and grows into a strong partnership, anchored by Claude Legault as Benoît Chartier and Sylvain Marcel as Sergent Julien Houle among the wider squad. Each episode is built from the concrete demands of the job: dangerous arrests, tips from informants, the pressure of a force where colleagues may be compromised, and the personal costs that follow officers home. The engine of the series is the tension between loyalty to the badge and the need to do right by the city. Shaped as a serialized crime drama with a continuing ensemble, it blends procedural detail with character-driven stakes. Its tone is gritty and sober, with moments of camaraderie and dark humor. Viewers who enjoy the grounded realism of The Shield, the precinct politics of Rookie Blue and the Canadian crime tradition will find resonance here. Authentic in its portrayal of police life, it rewards viewers who like morally weighted, character-first crime television.
