## Synopsis

Archie's Weird Mysteries (1999-2000) is an American animated mystery comedy series created for Pax TV and produced by DiC and Les Studios Tex, adapted from the Archie Comics characters. Its high school newspaper reporter Archie Andrews (voiced by Andrew Rannells) leads his friends Betty Cooper (America Young), Veronica Lodge (Camille Schmidt), Jughead Jones (Chris Lundquist), Reggie Mantle (Paul Sosso) and Dilton Doiley (Ben Beck) through a steady run of strange events in the town of Riverdale. The engine of each episode is simple and playful: a mysterious happening appears, the teens chase down its cause, and the answer usually turns out to be a bit of pulpy science fiction or monster B-movie mischief. The show is a single season of forty half-hour episodes, built as a case-of-the-week format in which the stories are largely self-contained. Its tone is light, wholesome and curious, with the easygoing humor of classic Saturday morning cartoons. Its atmosphere is that of an ordinary small American town where the uncanny keeps breaking through. Fans of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, Gravity Falls and The New Archie Show will find a similar mix of youthful detective work and gentle supernatural comedy.
