## Synopsis

49 Days (2011) is a South Korean fantasy romance drama created by Choi Moon-seok for SBS, a single-season limited series of twenty hour-long episodes. After a car accident shatters her storybook life, a comatose woman named Shin Ji-hyun, played by Nam Gyu-ri, receives a second chance at life when a reaper figure known as the Scheduler, played by Jung Il-woo, intervenes at a cost. Her survival hinges on a bargain with a strict deadline, so every episode pushes her to untangle a web of love, rivalry and family loyalty among the people around her. Bae Soo-bin plays Kang Min-ho, Lee Yo-won appears as Song Yi-kyung, and Jo Hyun-jae plays Han Kang, each caught in the emotional fallout of the crash. The story unfolds in contemporary South Korea, in apartments, hospital corridors and family homes, where infidelity and sibling tensions run beneath polished surfaces. The tone is melancholic and melodramatic, with tearful confrontations and lingering regret. Its structure is built on the countdown, a supernatural device layered over domestic drama. Fans of Goblin and Descendants of the Sun will find resonance in its blend of fate, longing and tragic romance.
