## Synopsis

Jessie (2011-2015) is an American Disney Channel family sitcom created by Pamela Eells. Debby Ryan plays Jessie Prescott, an idealistic teen from rural Texas who leaves starry nights behind for New York City and takes a job as nanny to a high-profile couple's four kids. Peyton List plays Emma Ross, the mother of the household, while Cameron Boyce plays the mischievous Luke Ross, and Kevin Chamberlin plays Bertram Winkle, the family's butler who helps keep Jessie's moral compass in check. Chris Galya's Tony, the building's twenty-year-old doorman, adds a steady friendly presence in the lobby. The engine of the show is Jessie's clash with a glamorous, busy household: each episode builds from a small misunderstanding, a schemed prank or a social mishap among the children and adults, resolved within a bright twenty-three-minute runtime. The series runs four seasons and ninety-eight episodes as a light, episodic family comedy with a continuing cast and a loose overarching arc. Set in contemporary Manhattan, it carries a cozy, breezy, wholesome register with a warm affection for its characters. Fans of Hannah Montana, The Nanny and Good Luck Charlie will find resonance in its lighthearted household chaos and teen-driven heart.
